The <strong>skin<\/strong>, <strong>oral cavity<\/strong>, and <strong>toes<\/strong> \ud83d\udc3e are the most common areas of occurrence in dogs and cats \ud83d\udc36\ud83d\udc31.<\/p><p>For <strong>skin tumors<\/strong>, SCC occurs in 15% of cats. Most cases develop on the <strong>head<\/strong>, often affecting the <strong>auricle, eyelids, and nose<\/strong> \ud83d\udc42\ud83d\udc40\ud83d\udc31.<\/p><p>However, less than 5% of skin tumors in dogs are SCC, most commonly appearing on the <strong>extremities, scrotum, and nose<\/strong> \ud83d\udc36.<\/p><p>For <strong>oral tumors<\/strong>, SCC accounts for 70% of cases in cats and 25% in dogs \ud83e\uddb7.<\/p><p>For <strong>toe tumors<\/strong>, SCC occurs in 38% to 50% of cases in dogs, but is <strong>rarely seen in cats&#8217; toes<\/strong> \ud83d\udc3e.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-393a00f elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"393a00f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Clinical symptoms<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-bad5925 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"bad5925\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Most SCC cases are <strong>locally invasive<\/strong> and may <strong>deeply infiltrate the bone<\/strong> \ud83e\uddb4. While metastasis through <strong>lymph nodes<\/strong> is possible, <strong>sporadic spread is rare unless the tumor is in an advanced stage<\/strong> \u26a0\ufe0f. However, certain locations, such as the <strong>lungs, toes, and chest line<\/strong>, have a <strong>higher metastasis rate<\/strong> .<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6dfd227 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"6dfd227\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Cause <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2a7904f elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2a7904f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The exact cause of SCC is not fully understood, but studies suggest a strong link to <strong>ultraviolet exposure<\/strong> \ud83c\udf1e.
