After an initial surgery, the tumor cells showed extending to tissue margins. After discussions with our <strong>Oncology Specialist<\/strong>, it was decided to proceed with <strong>Radiation Therapy.\u00a0<\/strong><br \/><br \/><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-fd5765c elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"fd5765c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Fibrosarcoma<\/strong> typically has a <strong>low metastatic rate<\/strong> but can be <strong>locally aggressive<\/strong>, leading to a <strong>higher rate of local recurrence<\/strong>. For this treatment, we employed <strong>advanced Image Guided Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IGIMRT)<\/strong> for the treatment of Jingle, <strong>reducing the dose received by normal tissues<\/strong>, <strong>preventing tumor growth and spread<\/strong>, and <strong>minimizing the risk of local recurrence<\/strong> \ud83c\udfaf.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c53523d elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c53523d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Treatment Planning is a crucial step in RT, requiring precise calculations based on the lizard&#8217;s body size, treatment goals, and tumor characteristics. Although Lizard anatomy often differs significantly from that of humans and cats or dogs, it is essential to ensure accurate delivery of radiation dose to the target or treatment area while minimizing damage to normal tissues. The unique skeletal structure and body shape of lizards present challenges in developing and positioning radiation therapy plans. For example, adjustments need to be made considering the lizard&#8217;s rougher skin texture.<br \/>\u2800<br \/>Furthermore, due to the need for animals to remain relatively still during radiation therapy for accurate positioning and treatment, appropriate anesthesia techniques and immobilization devices were used to ensure Jingle&#8217;s stability throughout the treatment process. We collaborated closely with Maple Exotic Veterinary Hospital\u2019s veterinarians and nurses to ensure\u00a0<strong>Jingle&#8217;s safety and comfort<\/strong> throughout treatment \ud83c\udfe5\u2764\ufe0f.
