When a dog or cat is having a seizure, it usually presents with any or a combination of the following symptoms:
– Uncontrollable shaking and tremors
– Eyes glazing over
– Loss of consciousness
– Falling down, then jerking or paddling violently
– Focal twitching of any part of the body
– Champing
– Drooling
– Uncontrolled urination and/or defecation
If the seizure is prolonged or even not able to stop by self after more than 5 minutes, the animal is at risk of permanent brain damage or even death.
If you notice any of these signs or are concerned, seek veterinary advice and care as soon as possible.
