In 2020, Dr. Ku and Dr. Harry Cheng established the first ambulatory oncology centre in a central business district in Hong Kong for Union Hospital. In 2021, they further devoted their expertise and expanded their target patients from humans to animals by establishing the first comprehensive veterinary oncology centre with radiotherapy equipment in Hong Kong.
Radiation therapists are allied health professionals working in the field of clinical oncology. They closely work with clinical oncologists, medical physicists, nurses and other members of the healthcare team in providing cancer animals with radiotherapy and care. In the process of radiotherapy, radiation therapists are responsible for performing simulation, treatment planning and treatment delivery.
They take care of animals and follow safety procedures to protect patients and themselves from overexposure. Our radiation therapists are patient, empathetic and helpful. If you have any questions about radiotherapy or care, they would be most happy to talk with you.
