What is C-Arm?

We’re excited to share that Harvest Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Hospital (HVSEH) has newly installed a state-of-the-art C-arm X-ray imaging system in our operating theatre — bringing greater precision and safety to advanced surgeries and interventional cardiology procedures.

A C-Arm X-Ray fluoroscopy machine (commonly known as a ‘C-Arm’) is an advanced medical imaging device that provides real-time X-ray imaging for intraoperative diagnostic and interventional radiology. It has become an invaluable tool in veterinary medicine, particularly in orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeries, as well as in interventional cardiology. Its ability to provide dynamic, live imaging enhances precision, reduces procedural time, and improves outcomes in complex cases.

Advantages of fluoroscopy:
– Real-Time Imaging: Provides immediate feedback during procedures, enhancing treatment accuracy and efficiency.
– Minimally Invasive: Reduces the need for open surgery, leading to faster recovery times and fewer complications.
– Versatility: Applicable across a wide range of procedures and anatomical regions.
– Enhanced Safety: Ensures precise placement of instruments, minimizing risks to surrounding tissues.

In conclusion, fluoroscopy is a critical tool in modern veterinary medicine, offering significant advantages in orthopaedic, soft tissue, and cardiac interventions. Its ability to deliver accurate, dynamic, and real-time imaging enhances diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities, ultimately improving patient outcomes and advancing veterinary care.
