Long Long’s Triumph Over Nasal Lymphoma at Harvest Veterinary Oncology Center (HVOC)🐾

At Harvest Veterinary Oncology Center (HVOC), we believe in combining advanced technology with compassionate care to give our patients the best chance at a healthy, happy life. Today, we’re sharing the inspiring story of Long Long, a brave Norwegian Forest cat who triumphed over nasal lymphoma with our advanced radiotherapy treatment.

Long Long’s Journey: From Diagnosis to Treatment
In 2023, at the age of 5, Long Long suffered from persistent nasal discharge, nosebleeds, and difficulty breathing. CT confirmed aggressive nasal lymphoma, a condition that required urgent and precise intervention. Without treatment, Long Long’s quality of life—and survival—were at risk.

Our oncology team recommended a 5-day radiotherapy (RT) course using the state-of-the-art Halcyon Linac, a cutting-edge system that delivers highly targeted radiation that spares healthy tissue to minimize side effects while maximizing efficacy.

Throughout each radiotherapy session, HVOC’s anesthesia team closely monitored Long Long’s vital signs. Supportive care includes pain management (Butorphanol), antibiotics (Marbofloxacin), and infection prevention to ensure Long Long’s comfort and safety.

Remarkable Recovery & Follow-Up
After completing radiotherapy from the 15th to 19th June 2023, Long Long was monitored closely through our 6-month follow-up program. The results have been outstanding:
✅ Nasal discharge stopped, breathing normalized
✅ No tumor recurrence detected in post-treatment medical images
✅ Good response to radiotherapy, as the lymph nodes were no longer palpable by the end of the follow-up
