Ar-Jill’s Cancer Journey: From Diagnosis to Recover

Ar-Jill, a 12-year-old mixed-breed dog, developed a large mass in the right nasal cavity, leading to severe facial deformity. After a thorough examination by our Specialist in Oncology, Dr. Antonio Giuliano, it was found that the tumour was stage IV with invasion of the cribriform plate and possible brain🧠. 

The Harvest Veterinary Oncology Centre (HVOC) oncology team devised a radiation therapy (RT) regimen for Ar-Jill, consisting of six sessions administered twice weekly in combination with concurrent low-dose carboplatin chemotherapy as a radiosensitiser. This treatment strategy carefully balanced therapeutic benefits with the tolerance of an elderly dog, aiming for the best possible outcome.

Significant Recovery & Follow-up Results

With the owner’s dedicated care and cooperation, Ar-Jill showed remarkable improvement. During the follow-up examination two weeks post-treatment, the owner reported encouraging progress👌. Two months post-treatment, the facial deformity has resolved, and there are no clinical signs of the tumour coming back.
