Heatstroke is a life-threatening condition that can happen all year round but is most common during the summer season! 🌞

🐾Signs of heatstroke to watch out
– Excessive panting
– Drooling
– Seizures
– Collapse
– Diarrhea
– Vomiting
– Restlessness
– Weakness

🐕Who is predisposed?
– Young and old animals
– Thick coated breeds
– Flat-faced animals (brachycephalic) such as English bulldogs, French Bulldogs, Pugs, Pekingese, Persian and Himalayan cats
– Patients with pre-existing heart and respiratory conditions

🛡️How to prevent heatstroke?
– Never leave your animals inside cars unattended 🚗
– Do not leave animals in rooms without ventilation
– Avoid excessive exercise
– Keep animals indoors during extreme heat and humidity

What to do?
– If you suspect your animal is having heatstroke, cool them first, place them in an air-conditioned room and call your nearest Emergency Vet.
