Dr. Beatriz Belda

DVM, MSc, MRCVS, DACVS-SA

Dr. Beatriz Belda graduated from the University of Murcia, Spain, in 2012. After graduation, she completed a rotating internship and a small animal surgery specialty internship at a referral hospital in Valencia.

In 2016, she moved to the United States for a small animal surgery internship at North Carolina State University, followed by a research position in the Translational Research in Pain (TRiP) program, where she focused on pain management and published several peer-reviewed articles. From 2018 to 2021, she earned a Master’s degree in Veterinary Medicine and completed a three-year small animal surgery residency at Purdue University in Indiana.

Dr. Beatriz achieved Diplomate status with the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) in February 2025. She has also worked as a specialist surgeon at University College Dublin in Ireland and in leading referral hospitals in the United Kingdom. Currently, she is Head of the Small Animal Surgery Service at AUNA Especialidades Veterinarias in Valencia, Spain and a collaborating surgeon at La Merced Surgical Specialists in Alicante, Spain.

Dr. Beatriz is faculty of AOVet, a member of the Veterinary Society of Surgical Oncology (VSSO), and an instructor in small animal surgery for the international IFEVET postgraduate programs. Her main clinical and research interests include surgical oncology and advanced soft tissue surgery.
