Thermal Ablation Surgery
The major advantage of thermal ablation in tumour treatment is its capability to treat tumours which are difficult to handle surgically, tumours which are of known volumes and are fixed, and tumours of organs which need to be preserved with their functions intact. The two types of thermal ablation for liver cancer are radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and microwave ablation. In RFA, an electric current is used to heat the tumour cells in the liver and destroy them through one or more probes (electrodes) that usually go through the skin into the tumour.
Neurosurgery
With access to world-leading diagnostic imaging facilities, radiologists, anaesthesiologists and supported by a truly multidisciplinary approach, our team provides individualised diagnosis, treatment and care for patients with neurological problems such as epilepsy, neuromuscular, spinal and brain diseases.
Cryotherapy
Cryosurgery is used to treat a number of diseases and conditions, especially skin diseases. During treatment, the veterinarian will use an ice pack, a cold or ice bath, or freeze a small area of the patient. Recent studies show that cryotherapy is an effective treatment for skin and musculoskeletal diseases.
Orthopaedic
Orthopaedic surgery requires very high levels of sterile technique in order to minimise the possibility of post-operative infection. Our operating theatres are equipped and managed to the highest standards, enabling our surgeons to provide the best possible treatment for animals.
Internal Medicine
Internal medicine specialists provide investigation, diagnosis and treatment in a wide range of areas including gastroenterology, respiratory medicine, endocrinology, hyperthyroidism, infectious diseases, oncology and immune-mediated diseases. In HVOC, our multidisciplinary team of specialists (including those in oncology and surgery) and dedicated nursing team work together to ensure the best possible individualised care for each animal.
Preventive Medicine
Pets are not able to tell us that they have a problem such as a toothache, an earache, reduced vision or a pain in their abdomen. It is only when such problems have already become so severe that there are outward symptoms. It is therefore highly important that your pets are given regular health checks by a veterinarian in order to catch these problems in good time. The annual health check itself is just as important as regular vaccinations because this allows us to detect problems early and provide assistance in routine healthcare such as exercise, diet, deworming, vaccinations and dental care, which are all very important aspects in keeping pets healthy.
Stem Cell Transplant
Stem cells are powerful healing cells in the body that can become other types of cells. Stem cell therapy allows us to isolate stem cells from an animal’s own adipose tissue, activate them, and re-inject them directly into the damaged area to improve the animal’s health. For example, in the case of arthritis, stem cells can become new cartilage cells, thereby reducing pain and increasing mobility.
Health Check-up
Our health check programs typically include a thorough examination of your pet. Our experienced team will check every detail to ensure that your pet is healthy in every way. This includes checking its temperature, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, teeth, skin, internal organs, joints and more by using our advanced medical imaging facilities if necessary.
